See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

company xiv has a new show and you definitely, definitely have to go. people often describe xiv as burlesque which it isn’t, exactly, but it is crammed to bursting with dance and circus and music and rhinestones and honestly most of the things I enjoy about burlesque.

for this show, cecil and I found ourselves at the serpent vip table, which meant we also had a steady stream of surprises - some edible, some unlockable, some human. wholly recommended.

Trading cards, pencil/ink and digital media, 2015

These were created for Third Rail Projects’ The Grand Paradise’s Kickstarter campaign! These were among the many cool rewards donors could receive. (These eight are part of a larger set of fifteen that can be found in the resort itself.)

The cards are inspired by 1970s design, fashion, color palettes, and iconography.

My fortune last night included (I think) the libertine, who is pictured up there with the rainbow hair.

PS The Grand Paradise is great and you should go at once.

I almost always space out on buying tix to the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, but this year I finally made it to one of the events: An Evening of Entertainment from People with Black Glasses, featuring Janeane Garofolo, Ira Glass, John Hodgman, Reggie Watts and (of course) Eugene Mirman.

I had a great time. Highlights for me included Ira Glass’s anecdote about hiking sex, John Hodgman’s tales of the Massachusetts dumpmen, and the as-advertised eye contact booth outside the event space. Later, when I went to upload my photos, I realized that basically all of them feature Comedy Hands.
