(I first saw it in October during CMJ.) Just look at that Ringo. He is the best Ringo.

This is by far my favorite of my Protomen videos from the past week. It features Bowie Ringo, a phallic banana, Murphy falling on stage, various microphone difficulties, and Panther punching Ringo in the face. What more could you ask for?
What’s this? Footage from a 2005 Protomen show featuring Unrest, Will of One, and Vengeance? And something about Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out? No, it’s not an April Fool’s joke. It’s a Nashville cable access show from six years ago, and it’s awesome.
I know, my site has essentially been a Protomen fan blog for the past week and change. But I did want to point out this one last video in case you didn’t wade through my massive post below. The addition of The Fall to the regular live rotation has been one of my favorite changes since Ringo joined the band, and this version is especially awesome, in my opinion.
Here’s a much higher-quality version of Ringo Segundo and Panther singing Under Pressure at the Orlando show. I know a lot of you are here mainly for the photos, but you really should watch this video - Ringo’s version of David Bowie is just uncanny!
Holy crap, so good!
By now it should be no surprise to any of you that I’m kind of fond of The Protomen. As it happens, they hit NYC again last weekend, but even that wasn’t enough for me. So I took the train to Baltimore to catch their set at Bit Gen, then took the train home in the middle of the night, slept all day, and went to see them again in Brooklyn. It was completely fucking awesome, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
I’ve got a shit ton of video from the weekend, and a bunch of photos too, but this is probably my favorite. What you should really do, though, is go see a live show yourself. They’re on tour right now.

Last night was pretty much a perfect New York evening, the kind that makes me happier than I can say with my life as it is right now. And I don’t think there’s a better way to spend the evening of the 4th than at a picnic on the roof of the McKittrick, watching fireworks with friends & fellow drunks.
eleven years ago tonight! I believe this was the only 4th of july event the mckittrick has ever had, and it was also the first event held at gallow green.
