Number 79: In my 34 years on this earth there have been perhaps half a dozen occasions when a piece of art literally changed my life. One of those occasions was in May 2011, when I experienced Sleep No More for the first time. Four years later, I’m still finding new reasons to fall in love with this show and I’m sincerely grateful to have spent tonight with exactly the people who helped make it all happen. Happy immersaversary to me!
Not even my SNM trinket box is safe from my current spring cleaning spree.
Number 78 was my first show in quite a while, and it was nice to be back. There are remarkable things happening in that building right now and I encourage you all to investigate.
In spite of myself, I spent New Year’s Eve in Manhattan. But at least it was at a great party with some of my favorite creeps. And at least I was wearing giant bedazzled gold antlers.

This question is frequently asked. You can check the list if you absolutely must have the exact details, but the real answer is: many, many times.
Number 77 was an unexpected treat. Birthday drinks with evenghostandhorse, followed by a tipsy late show, and ending with farewell drinks late into the night for a certain Julian, who is already sorely missed.
I had a great time at Inferno, start to finish. I was the right amount of drunk and the right amount of awake the whole time, I got to see and grope and dance with most of my favorite creeps and weirdos, my horns did not become uncomfortable, and I saw nearly everything I wanted to and quite a number of things I wasn’t expecting.
The auction was not my kind of thing but I loved being invited to it by Sam Booth at dinner. He asked about how much I had spent on different elements of my outfit and at one point took my purse away from me to look for money, but those of you who know me will not be surprised to learn I had all my cash in my bra.
Some of my favorite moments of the night were the ones created by my friends, who never cease to astonish me with their creativity. I must be doing something right in my life to be surrounded by people like this.
All in all, I have no complaints.

A glimpse of Inferno. There are many, many more photos to come.

I believe the prices have been relatively consistent at around $75-100 for party only, $175 for show/party, and about $225-250 for dinner/show/party.
Which, if you think about it is a pretty good deal. It’s hard to find a high-end dinner in NY for $50-75, including drinks. And an open-bar party like the McKittrick throws is more than worth $75, IMHO.
Having previously balked at a lot of the prices, it’s true that the open bar events are actually a really good deal for the most part. They run super late and if you drink your fill, and one is strongly encouraged to do so, it’s a good package.
The one that wasn’t was the first New Year’s Eve, when they initially announced a $600 Royal Feast option. It vanished the next day when it was clear no one was buying that (this was before there was a Heath, so people rightly asked, what, we’re going to eat in the ballroom, after the filthy things we did there on Halloween?). That would have been ridiculous. But the show/party tix were $250 that night and once you punched your way through the crowd to the bars, that was pretty good, considering competing NYC NYE prices elsewhere.
For what it’s worth, show plus party for Halloween 2011 (I went for The Darkest Shadow) was $100 total. But if I remember correctly, it wasn’t open bar. And regular show tickets were cheaper then, too.

I can’t decide. But here are my top three:
May Fair (2014) because it was perfect in every way - I loved partying on the 4th floor instead of the ballroom, I loved Paul Zivkovich being The Fool in Fulton’s office, I loved getting plastered and making out with [REDACTED], I loved the 1:1 with Austin in the interrogation room, I loved doing shots from a syringe in Malcolm’s office, I loved Nick Bruder leading the karaoke room, I loved the sweaty dance party in the rep bar, and I loved flying to Iceland the following day with a hangover and a variety of bruises. This party was so dark and moist and loud and fun that I don’t really have any photos, but I do have fifteen seconds of cryptic video.
The Curse of the Mummy (2013) because I now have this photo of me and Felix Barrett. (And a variety of other absurd photos.) And I really enjoyed the scene that opened the party, and the ballroom full of sand, and the dinner was great too.
The Valentine’s Day Dance (2013) because everything was just so nice. All my favorite angel creature friends were there, all my favorite staff and cast were there, the dancing was a delight (especially this and this), and I totally had a hot date.
