The delightful Barefoot Shakespeare Company gave us Twelfth Night in Central Park last weekend, and it was one of the most pleasant Sunday afternoons I have spent in recent memory. I like having friends who do things like this.

You have three more chances to see Barefoot Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet in Central Park, and I recommend that you do so if at all possible. I love this production, particularly the dirtbag Montagues in their tough guy denim jackets.
Last summer, some of my favorite people held a Kickstarter so they could put on Twelfth Night for free in Central Park. I backed it, of course, and this week I was rewarded with a bacon-themed donor dinner. There were bacon martinis, bacon mashed potatoes, a salad with edible wildflowers and bacon, and steak with bacon gravy. Just ridiculous, and easily the best Kickstarter perk I’ve had yet. I look forward to throwing more money at Barefoot Shakespeare Company in the future!

Here are my (very belated) pics from Walden Shakespeare’s Central Park show. Definitely the funniest production of Midsummer I’ve seen in a long time - which is a big plus when the play in question is a comedy.
Round two of Drunk Shakespeare with my angel husband @fleepnomore. The new-to-me space has better seating but sadly fewer snacks. The show is still a good time, though. Recommended.
If “Henry V with beer pong” sounds like fun to you, then you would totally be into Three Day Hangover’s Hank V. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you secretly think the fart & dick jokes might be your favorite part of Shakespeare, then a) let’s be friends and b) you should have gone to this show.
Bonus: Hank and Katherine do some dirty dancing.

Last night was pretty much a perfect New York evening, the kind that makes me happier than I can say with my life as it is right now. And I don’t think there’s a better way to spend the evening of the 4th than at a picnic on the roof of the McKittrick, watching fireworks with friends & fellow drunks.
eleven years ago tonight! I believe this was the only 4th of july event the mckittrick has ever had, and it was also the first event held at gallow green.
