I’ve seen glimpses of a couple of the costumes from this weekend’s EPIC WIN Burlesque LoTR shows, and I can tell you with 100% confidence that you need to be there. You just do. Otherwise when I post pictures from the show next week, you’re gonna be like “damn, why didn’t I go to that show?"

I can’t believe I forgot to post this with the Epic Win Burlesque pics. These two fine gentlemen are the hosts of the troupe that brought you shows such as Video Game Vixens and Rater R for Violence. The on-stage chemistry between these two is kind of inspiring. I’ve gotten to know them pretty well and can honestly say they are two of the hardest working guys in this business. Both of them manage work with the Burlesque troupe, have full time jobs, and are professional performers. Oh… and they are always willing to take fun photos with me. Let’s take a break from talking about bands and look at some photos of my favorite people ever, the ladies of Epic Win Burlesque. For those of you who don’t know, Epic Win is the creme-de-la-dork of Burlesque. They love video games, zombies, and amazing movies and it’s not everyday that you can have an amazingly sexy argument over the finer points of Star Trek and Star Wars. I’ve gotten to know them pretty well over the past few years and it was a total pleasure to watch them perform at Nerdapalooza. This was one of the highlight acts and completely packed the room after midnight on Day one. Love it. Last weekend I got to see my crazy friends at Epic Win Burlesque do their DC vs Marvel show, and it was everything I hoped it could be and more. If you have not yet caught an Epic Win performance, you should really remedy that as soon as you are able.
Here are a couple glimpses of Stormy Leather’s fucking incredible Cylon act, which I got to see for the second time on Saturday at Epic Win Burlesque’s Sci-Fi Sirens show.
Were you aware that you still have three more chances to see Epic Win Burlesque at the Fringe Festival? It’s true! We have shows tonight at 5:15pm, tomorrow at 9:15pm, and Saturday at 5:45pm, all at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E 4th St between Bowery and 2nd). All three shows will have tickets available at the door.
Come see Schaffer and Lugo debate the merits of Star Wars and Star Trek while lovely ladies get nearly naked. Tonight’s lineup includes Lefty Lucy, Nasty Canasta, Miss Mary Cyn, BB Heart, Fem Appeal, and Rosey la Rouge.

Last night was pretty much a perfect New York evening, the kind that makes me happier than I can say with my life as it is right now. And I don’t think there’s a better way to spend the evening of the 4th than at a picnic on the roof of the McKittrick, watching fireworks with friends & fellow drunks.
eleven years ago tonight! I believe this was the only 4th of july event the mckittrick has ever had, and it was also the first event held at gallow green.
