I’m still not over Nutcracker Rouge and I don’t expect to be anytime soon.
Nutcracker Rouge : every other holiday show :: Fashion Santa : regular Santa
For real, do not miss Nutcracker Rouge. I have already seen it this season but I still can’t wait to go back in a couple weeks.

On Sunday I saw Company XIV’s Cinderella for the second time with the incandescent @nakedgirleating and I consumed more than one of those tiny Sofia champagne minis, and there was a drunk lady who was clearly overwhelmed by the sheer number of shapely butts on stage, and the show was so pretty that Mags and I both cried, and the offensively talented STG looked handsome even while wearing a large balloon pony head, and then I rode the subway home with a large balloon pony head.
company xiv has a new show and you definitely, definitely have to go. people often describe xiv as burlesque which it isn’t, exactly, but it is crammed to bursting with dance and circus and music and rhinestones and honestly most of the things I enjoy about burlesque.
for this show, cecil and I found ourselves at the serpent vip table, which meant we also had a steady stream of surprises - some edible, some unlockable, some human. wholly recommended.
Tickets for the next three Company XIV shows are now on sale, so here are some of my Company XIV photos. I think we can safely assume you do not want to miss any of the upcoming productions.
Chad and I caught Company XIV’s Cinderella on Tuesday and it was gorgeous almost beyond belief, which shouldn’t really be a surprise to anyone who has seen an XIV show at all ever. The entire cast is flawless, and Steven Trumon Gray in particular is so great that it actually makes me a little bit angry. I would strongly urge you to get your butt in a seat at Minetta Lane Theatre at your earliest possible convenience.

Go see this, probably. I’m going back for round two this weekend.
Last night was pretty much a perfect New York evening, the kind that makes me happier than I can say with my life as it is right now. And I don’t think there’s a better way to spend the evening of the 4th than at a picnic on the roof of the McKittrick, watching fireworks with friends & fellow drunks.
