Last week was the final show of Original Cyn Burlesque. This is one of the craziest shows around and I am going to miss it so much. Mary Cyn and Joe the Shark always manage to put on a great show and they are both going to keep doing it. Just can’t help but being sad about my favorite Monday night show…. Here are a few polaroids from the very last Original Cyn.
If you know me at all, then you know that the Epic Win creeps are some of my favorite creeps in the world. Come see them get naked again on Friday. (Or Saturday if you must, but all the really cool people are going Friday. It’s just something I heard.)
This is why it’s advisable to go to Original Cyn on Mondays: there is whiskey, there are naked ladies, there are ridiculously attractive friends, and you might win a flogger made out of recycled bicycle tires. It just sets the tone for the whole week.
I have just returned from a very pleasant evening of Firefly-themed burlesque, at which I consumed a satisfying quantity of beers and made friends with a tiny dinosaur formerly concealed somewhere on the person of Wash (played by my friend Nasty Canasta). The highlight of the evening for me was when Mary Cyn as Kaylee literally made sparks fly. Stella Chuu was also delightful as Jayne (complete with enormous gun), and Burke of course was the perfect host for this show.

Were you aware that you still have three more chances to see Epic Win Burlesque at the Fringe Festival? It’s true! We have shows tonight at 5:15pm, tomorrow at 9:15pm, and Saturday at 5:45pm, all at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E 4th St between Bowery and 2nd). All three shows will have tickets available at the door.
Come see Schaffer and Lugo debate the merits of Star Wars and Star Trek while lovely ladies get nearly naked. Tonight’s lineup includes Lefty Lucy, Nasty Canasta, Miss Mary Cyn, BB Heart, Fem Appeal, and Rosey la Rouge.
