Last night was by far the best holiday party of the year, the 3rd Annual Non-Denominational Holiday Extravaganza featuring the 2011 Livingroomy awards. There were countless extremely prestigious and well-deserved awards given out, such as Best Lead Role in a Lapdance, Best Fall, and Best Dramatic Entrance or Exit. I myself was very pleased to win Best Gift of Socks, but totally honored and amazed when I received the BB Heart Lifetime Achievement Award. It took a lot of work and a lot of whiskey to get where I am today, but it was worth every minute. I’d like to thank the Academy.
My friends at Storybook Burlesque recently put on a show based on Through the Looking Glass, and I was there to get drunk and take some blurry photos. In addition I’ve got video of BB Heart’s genius opening act which you should absolutely watch.
Were you aware that you still have three more chances to see Epic Win Burlesque at the Fringe Festival? It’s true! We have shows tonight at 5:15pm, tomorrow at 9:15pm, and Saturday at 5:45pm, all at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E 4th St between Bowery and 2nd). All three shows will have tickets available at the door.
Come see Schaffer and Lugo debate the merits of Star Wars and Star Trek while lovely ladies get nearly naked. Tonight’s lineup includes Lefty Lucy, Nasty Canasta, Miss Mary Cyn, BB Heart, Fem Appeal, and Rosey la Rouge.
