Speaking of tough drummers, here’s one of the videos Onslaught mentioned yesterday in which Reanimator performs some awesomely death-defying shit. The good shit starts about 30 seconds in. MUST WATCH.

I was also in the balcony when this happened, and was pretty sure I was about to see Reanimator either break bones or drums.

Get down from there Reanimator. For once I can tell what you are standing on, even in sweet, sweet monochrome. But what you are standing on is your drum set! That seems like a needlessly difficult way to go about drumming, especially with a perfectly good seat right there behind you. If you are trying impress the audience, it is working, but still…

We’d like to give a shoutout to truly hardcore Protomen fan ShutUpAndJamza. He’s such a total badass that not only did he attend the November show in NYC while undergoing chemotherapy, he rocked out in the middle of the goddamn pit.

Guess what? It’s the five year anniversary of this post, which means it’s now five years I’ve been friends with this cyborg motherfucker right here. Because it turns out shortly after that Reddit thread we went to PAX together and gamed some games and attended some concerts and spooned with some robots.
There’s a pretty great update thread on Reddit that you should definitely consume. Here’s to not dying!
This seems like a good week (or month, or year) to be reminded that the internet isn’t always unceasingly awful. Right now my Twitter feed is basically a dumpster fire, but there’s also this guy who I met on goddamn Reddit of all places five years ago and now we’re friends and better still he’s also not dead.
Last night was pretty much a perfect New York evening, the kind that makes me happier than I can say with my life as it is right now. And I don’t think there’s a better way to spend the evening of the 4th than at a picnic on the roof of the McKittrick, watching fireworks with friends & fellow drunks.
eleven years ago tonight! I believe this was the only 4th of july event the mckittrick has ever had, and it was also the first event held at gallow green.
