I have been an admirer of lady weird for years and in 2022 I finally went ahead and got myself a perfect tiny expensive spanking figurine. no regrets. except possibly one regret which is that I did not get all three.
While I was in the Bay Area last month, my family and I went to the Cantor Center for Visual Arts at Stanford. This piece (Last Judgment, attributed to the school of Hieronymous Bosch) was one of my very favorites. I spent quite a long time staring at all the different bizarre details, but I could easily stare at it for hours more. I wish I’d been at Cantor when it was featured in an entire exhibition of art about Satan and the underworld.
I had a lovely time at the fabulous @fyodorpavlov‘s opening last night. It was so nice being in a room completely packed full of art and friends and wine and music! And then I treated myself to a little box of fancy on the way home.
Tom Fruin’s stained glass water towers in DUMBO, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Gowanus are among my favorite objects in NYC.
Chad and I caught Company XIV’s Cinderella on Tuesday and it was gorgeous almost beyond belief, which shouldn’t really be a surprise to anyone who has seen an XIV show at all ever. The entire cast is flawless, and Steven Trumon Gray in particular is so great that it actually makes me a little bit angry. I would strongly urge you to get your butt in a seat at Minetta Lane Theatre at your earliest possible convenience.
