More you might like
- Sleep No More (and if “toward the end of this month” means Halloween week, plan on at least one night of the Halloween party as well)
- Then She Fell
- Play/Date
- Rococo Rouge
- Queen of the Night (and if cost is really not an issue, get premium or better tix)
- Cabaret
- Hedwig and the Angry Inch
With the option of skipping Cabaret and/or Hedwig for whatever especially good burlesque shows are happening. I can’t tell you what these are, though, since you did not actually specify what dates you are here.
This year I remembered the important strategy I failed to grasp last year, which is that first you should carve your pumpkin friend and then give yourself adorable Halloween nailz. Otherwise, between the pumpkin guts and frequent hand washing and knife usage, your nailz end up chipped like an hour after they are painted which is maybe the most maddening thing in the world.
@lilymischief had a Fall Day party and there was pumpkin soup and pizza monkey bread and pumpkin cheesecake and novelty Halloween beer and pumpkin carving and it was great, just great.
I just went through my own Halloween 2015 tag and I have to say I think this year’s festivities might have been the best yet. Good work, everyone.
One of my favorite Halloween traditions is the Procession of the Ghouls at the Cathedral of St John the Divine (which I also go to for the Blessing of the Animals). It’s always a treat, but this year I went with a pack of my favorite people including @lilymischief and @fantasticcats and we got great seats right on the aisle, so it was especially nice. I was glad I had just been to the barber because the ghouls were all very interested in rubbing my head.
there was a lot to love about halloween this year, but maybe my fav moment all weekend was the late night mid-party 1:1 ariel designed based on the starless sea. definitely among the best things to happen to me in that ballroom. not pictured: a tiny perfect chocolate mouse (which I ate at 3am when I got home) 🖤🐝🖤
Last night was pretty much a perfect New York evening, the kind that makes me happier than I can say with my life as it is right now. And I don’t think there’s a better way to spend the evening of the 4th than at a picnic on the roof of the McKittrick, watching fireworks with friends & fellow drunks.
