Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway is set against the backdrop of a stage in a state of destruction and disarray; the faux remains from Hurt Locker: The Musical left up for Hedwig’s ‘one-night-only’ performance.
When you enter the Belasco Theater, Hurt Locker Playbills are scattered around, as if the pervious audience left in a hurry (because the show was supposedly so bad that it closed during intermission on its opening night).
Long story short, this faux Playbill is now my favorite Playbill. If nothing else, read the Director’s Note, or the How Many Have You Seen page, or D’Bree Dazeem’s bio. Literally everything about this Playbill is gold [including the back cover].
