Behold: Cat Ass
So my iSight had been sitting in a box for nearly a year, as you probably gathered if you visit my cams page at all. Chris and I had decided a while back that we should convert it to a cat cam, since Tigger is more of a camwhore than either of us will ever be. Yesterday, I finally got around to setting it up and pointing it at the windowsill behind our desks where he likes to sit and watch pigeons that land on our balcony. You can view the results here.
We tricked him into hopping up there a couple of times by using his favorite feather toy - just to see that everything was working. It will only take pictures when motion is detected, so for the most part all you should see are cat pictures. Once in a while it will be fooled by dramatic changes in the light, though - like when the sun goes behind a cloud. The photos are automatically uploaded to Flickr, so I don’t really have to do anything except keep the cat from savaging the iSight.
Note that my cat cam is not the original CatCam - you can find that here.
