Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack and Quack
Robert McCloskey died yesterday. He was the author and illustrator of (among other things) Make Way for Ducklings, Blueberries for Sal, One Morning in Maine, and Burt Dow, Deep-Waterman, which were some of my absolute favorite books when I was just a little tiny Emma. If you’ve got younguns of your own, or know someone who does, I’d recommend all of them. If you’re in the Boston area, there are bronze sculptures of the Ducklings to go and visit, and it turns out that they’re also (for some reason) in Moscow. Either way, really.
