right yeah

so tired. today was good, though. dr rajagopal read out some of the exam answers from tuesday and i think maybe i didn’t do quite as badly as i thought i did. won’t actually get the test back till next week, though. al was in fine form today - he somehow managed to cover most of john stuart mill and keep a hundred people in hysterics for an hour and fifteen minutes. you know it’s a good class when you leave lecture with your face hurting from laughing too hard and you’re way clearer on act and rule utilitarianism than you were before.

got the whole eyestrain thing going on, which i mean that’s fun and everything but i think i’ve had enough monitor-staring for tonight.

only dead girls like me

<batjew> I really don’t want James Earl Jones to ever die

yeah, so it snowed today, for only the second or third time this year. i was sitting in my politics lecture and the professor sort of trailed off in the middle of a sentence, and then she’s like HEY LOOK IT’S SNOWING, and in fact it was. so after class some of us went outside to wander around in the snow, which was blowing everywhere and got caught in my hair becuase it was all spiked up, so that probably looked pretty silly. and then we had caramel lattes and warmed up and went back to main building.

it’s not snowing anymore, but it’s still quite cold. ima layer on the quilt my grandma made for me and hibernate for a few hours before one more day of classes. and then glorious, glorious weekend.

awww yeah

guess who got a 94 on the einstein midterm? why, that would be me!

lab was pretty good today, too. we managed to make all the motion sensors and whatnot behave this time, so we were out in like forty five minutes or an hour as opposed to like an hour and forty five minutes.

ps HELLO JON FROM LAB I AM SORRY THERE IS NO PORN HERE

only happy when it rains

the worst thing ever is when you wake up and realize that the noise that woke you up is the garbage truck outside, and that you forgot to take your trash to the curb and now it is TOO LATE!

i’m the king of nynex

the guy who runs this particular computer lab is always so adorably surly. it’s because he knows we are all sitting here only PRETENDING to check our mail, and really we are hacking his gibson. he didn’t spend twenty five years protecting the president so he could finish his career feeling like an idiot!

he fronts the most

<frontalot> there’s not enough pouting in the world
<frontalot> you’re providing a service
<emma> i like to think so
<emma> a pouting service
<emma> i’m a hero, really
<frontalot> three cheers

i’ll calcutta you

just came from the india midterm, wow did that ever suck. i had thought that since i’ve never missed a lecture, i take really good notes, and i’ve done all the reading that i wouldn’t have to study too much - silly me! i studied for six straight hours last night and still wasn’t completely prepared. i’m hoping he’s pretty lenient with regard to grading, as almost all of us walking out of the exam looked like we’d just seen our favorite puppies raped with chainsaws.

i suppose my mistake was in focusing on einstein over the weekend, since i figured that would be the harder of the two - physics has never been my strong point. einstein of course turned out to be easy and india a deeply traumatic experience. i suspect i’ll wake up screaming from nightmares about the rowlatt act of 1919 and the significance of the census for the next few weeks at least.

at least i had no problems getting into the city on time this morning, thanks to spides, who provided a newzealandy wakeup call JUST FOR ME. there aren’t that many people who are awake at 6am est, but he is one of them (hooray for insane time differences)!

all of it now tell me yes

the einstein midterm was actually not that bad! either it was easier than i expected or i am a supergenius. I THINK THE ANSWER IS CLEAR! a bunch of people left after only like forty five minutes, and we talked about how not hard it was in the hallway for a little while, and then ran away. i stopped at that overexpensive hippy grocery store on university place and got java chai, which i mean it’s chai and espresso so how could i not?

tomorrow: india midterm. THE TIME FOR STUDYING IS NOW

mmm

who doesn’t love punk chicks?
