i woke up really late this morning because i had to take a bunch of cold medicine to get to sleep; i don’t really feel that sick but i have this cough that just won’t go away and it gets a lot worse when i’m trying to sleep. so i slept till almost noon and felt really groggy for most of the day. bleh.

i’m working on a bunch of design projects at the moment; when i start school next week i’m going to be really busy so i’m trying to finish up as much as i can before then. so i spent most of today poring over some php and now my head hurts.

it still hasn’t really snowed yet. there was that one flurry last week the morning colin went to london, but it melted and there’s been nothing since then. it’s really annoying. it’s the middle of january, it’s new york city. there should be snow on the ground. i know i’m always sick of it when it piles up in the gutters and gets all dirty and it doesn’t melt until halfway through spring. but i want it to snow already, dammit.

also: pikmin is really entirely too much fun. if you have a gamecube, go get it.

things are pretty frantic now, with about a week to go until i start at nyu (and a week until my birthday!) i’ve been pretty busy.

friday night mrtails came over since he won’t be around for my birthday next weekend; we watched some movies and played a lot of super smash brothers melee, and not a little tony hawk 3. didn’t get to sleep until pretty late (or i guess pretty early saturday morning) and did some design work when i eventually woke up.

today i worked some more, napped a little since i feel like i’m fighting off another cold (or the same cold coming back), and shaved my head again since i was getting a little fuzzy. i think soon i’m going to cut my forelock a bit shorter and start growing out the rest of my hair; eventually i want to grow it back out to jaw length but i figure i can do some sort of short spiked thing in the meantime. we’ll see. it’s pretty fun, i’ve never had short hair before.

yesterday and today i’ve been dealing with nyu stuff and whatnot - trying to get everything sorted out before i start classes again in a couple weeks, which i’m looking forward to but there’s a lot to get done before then.

colin went to london today, and i get to take care of his gamecube until he gets back later this month. after all, we don’t want it getting lonely sitting there all by itself and not getting played. we rented moulin rouge at his place last night, mainly just for the eye candy, which was a good thing since it’s really not a very good movie. but i did like the costumes a lot. we watched some mst3k too, but were too tired to finish the whole thing.

today, i admit, i played a lot of tony hawk 3. i really like how much they’ve improved the custom skaters and everything, and the levels are a lot more interesting than they were in 2, but i’m still getting used to how much they changed the physics of the game. definitely fun though.

pretty productive day. cleaned up my apartment, worked on pa. now i have a headache. the end.

so i had a pretty good weekend. saturday i went to spencer’s, for movies and geeking and mexican food. we were going to go clubbing; first we were thinking batcave but then we decided to try out this new club on 2nd. unfortunately, we got all the way down there and it wasn’t open and didn’t show any signs of being open any time soon. so that didn’t quite work, but i still had fun.

sunday i spent working during the day, and then i met up with colin when he got off work. it was all chilly and rainy so instead of walking down to ricky’s we just went back to brooklyn. got chinese, watched the addams family and sunday night cartoons.

this morning it was actually snowing, finally. it wasn’t a lot and it didn’t stick, but it was still snow. colin makes wild claims about it having flurried in the city before now but since i didn’t see it, it doesn’t count. so i watched the snow on the train home and stopped for coffee. maybe tomorrow it will snow more.

i’m at spencer’s house right now; we just had some mexican and are going to watch movies in a bit. eventually we will be heading over to batcave, which should be fun. i haven’t been out in a long time and i’m looking forward to it. now spencer is getting his guitar skillz on y0. woo. i have to say this is the first acoustic version of the perfect drug i’ve ever heard.

last night was fun; kicked colin’s ass at tony hawk 2 and jet grind radio, which makes us about even for the royal beating he gave me at super smash brothers melee the other day. i really can’t wait to play jet set radio future, though. that’s going to be the best.

tomorrow is gonna be mad design day; i’m werking on my dad’s site and on pa. hopefully i’ll have mockups of both done by the end of tomorrow or monday. but now it is movie time.

not a terribly exciting day. my plague is essentially gone but my throat’s still kind of scratchy so i’ve been making with the tea and soup and working on the design projects that are piling up, primarily my dad’s site and pa, although as colin reminded me i still have to finish disintegrate.org at some point. eventually, i promise.

i’ve also been sewing up all the little tears and rips and cigarette burns in my nicer club clothes that i haven’t worn in a while; i’m probably not getting really dressed up this week but it will be nice to have it done and i’ve been in the mood to sew lately. i might try and take a costume class or something at tisch or ed theatre next sememster and learn something beyond the rudimentary stiching i picked up in girl scouts. i think it would be really cool to sew my own clothes and stuff. but we’ll see how much time i have, i guess.

it’s been really freezing in new york lately but still not a flake of snow. i feel ripped off. i get royally sick of the dirty heaps of city snow piled up on every corner by the time it starts to melt in the spring, but here it is january and we haven’t even had a flurry. what gives?

my new year’s eve was pretty cool. i went to colin’s and we watched movies till midnight, then cracked some champagne and watched the ball drop and everything. i try to avoid manhattan entirely on new year’s eve: since i moved here, i’ve spent two new year’s eves in brooklyn and one in jersey.

dunno what i’m up to this weekend yet, exactly. i might go clubbing with spencer, probably to batcave. it’s been a while since i went out. which is kind of what i was up to tonight - i wanted to see if it looked entirely silly to get all gothed up with my new hair, and i’ve concluded that it doesn’t. or if it does, i don’t care.
